Hi
First this site is the most useful I have found for info about Vancouver Island that you need to know if you are considering a move.
I have two main concerns about relocating to your lovely island:-
Finding a good school for my son (6 years old)
Finding a nice place to live
The job bit I know I can handle!!!
I am looking at Nanaimo as the area to settle but am finding it really hard to find some 'parents' views on schools in the area.  To be honest I am not a great one for tables and that is all I can seem to find. 
Can anyone out there give me a parents view on some schools in this area???
Can anyone out there give me a family view on some areas to live near these schools?????
I am over for three weeks in June so we can all decide whether we will follow in my little brother's footsteps (he lives in Edmonton much too cold for me), for my part I am already convinced..............

Hi Diana - glad to hear that you are relocating to one of the most beautiful parts of the world!  I have met many people who have lived and worked all over the planet, yet they say that Vancouver Island is the nicest by far.

I live north of Victoria in Brentwood Bay, so can't comment on the schools or living in Nanaimo, but if they are anything like here, it's great.  Nanaimo is a lovely town with great shopping and community activities.  If you enjoy skiing, Mount Washington is only a couple of hours away and travel over to Vancouver is easy.
